About Me
I caught the aviation bug in 2011 when I earned my private pilot's license in South Africa. Those first solo flights showed me exactly what I wanted to do with my life - Aviation.
My career has taken me from maintaining military helicopters to developing cutting-edge UAVs, with the ISTAR Mugin project standing as my proudest achievement so far. Taking that empty airframe and transforming it into a fully operational surveillance platform for Defence was challenging but incredibly rewarding.
The R&D environment is where I truly thrive—working alongside talented specialists, moving at a fast pace, and having the freedom to innovate. There's a special energy when diverse skills come together to create something new.
I believe in doing honest work, learning from my mistakes, and never passing up a chance to learn something new. I’ve been lucky to have brilliant people around me who have shaped my journey, showing me that expertise comes from curiosity and persistence.
What gets me out of bed in the morning is the process of bringing ideas to life. Sketching a concept, building a prototype, and seeing it take flight. That transformation from imagination to reality never gets old.
My goal is to expand into more drone piloting while keeping my hands on technical edge. Understanding both operational needs and technical implementation gives you a perspective that's hard to beat.
When I'm not working with aircraft systems, you'll find me perfecting my kombucha brewing setup, racing custom-built drones, or diving into one of the various projects featured on my site.
